Trundled over to borough green 2day 2collect a 'TURBO' head that i got off ebay. Wen i got there we chatted for a whil, done the dodgy deal and i came home. Ive just re-painted it and it looks lovely but ive noticed that it doesnt have double valve springs! It was stated on the ebay post that it has sodium filled exhaust valves, but can you have a trbo head with these and not the double valve springs? Edited by 1976_mini on 18th Sep, 2005. it may b small but it purfectly formed

also have a look for a little 'T' stamped by the heater tap take off. but as dangerous says the only way to definately tell is to look for the larger dia exh valve stems. On 20th Oct, 2015 Tom Fenton said:

take the rockers off, and you should be able to see quickly that the exhausts valve is thicker than the inlet valve. If they are the same size, then you've been done! On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

I have at least 5 Turbo heads, and all of them have double springs fitted. Haven't we had this debate before ? lol.

All may not be lost. Have you measured the valves ? if it does indeed have 35.6mm inlets then it'll most likely be a normally aspirated MG Metro head. This has the bigger inlet valve and the ports are also of slightly larger diameter, so why not fit new exhaust guides and the sodium valves to this head ? That way you've got a decent head for not much money.
