Club Meet & Drag racing (Avon Park 2017!)

I have popped over from the 16vminiclub forum to invite you turbo guys to a little get together I'm trying to organise for next year (2017). Some of us (and some of you guys I'm sure) have been disappointed with santa pod lately and would like to try somewhere new so I am organising a meet up at Shakespeare county raceway in the spirit of the old 'British mini showdown' but it will be unofficial and more relaxed on a rwyb day. I would be good to see some a series turbo cars there to give us valvers some competition (some of you guys are seriously quick!). If you are interested pop over to the 16v forum and vote on which date you would prefer:

I have spoken to Shakespeare county raceway and they are happy to host our club meet (in conjunction with 16vminiclub) on the rwyb weekend of 30th September - 1st October. This is a public track weekend as well so there will be other cars on the track, they suggested this weekend as it is usually a little quieter especially on the Saturday. There will be camping available and we will try and organize some sort of bbq for the Saturday night, Shakespeare raceway have also said the bar will be open if there is enough of us. I'm hoping people will make the effort to get to this as it would be great to finally have a good club meet so even if you have no interest in going on the track please come along and meet everyone else, talk minis, watch some racing and hopefully have a fun weekend.
We will have an unofficial 'competition' where you can hand in your times and we will have winners for different categories. This is not restricted to 16v or turbo powered minis, all classic minis are welcome.
So put the date in your diaries, spread the word and if you are coming please add your name to this thread with a pic of your car if you want so we have an idea of how many will be there.

The event is now officially called the 'Classic Mini Rumble'. Shakespeare raceway has kindly produced a web banner and will be adding it to the events listing.

yes I remember talking to you in the que at retro show I believe. I've managed a 13.6 @ 103mph which was better than I expected.
