Afternoon TMers..

I've finally managed to get some time working on the mini.

I was suffering with major clutch slip with anything over 8psi! Running a grey diaphragm on a KAD flywhweel and backplate. And a minispares road/rally clutch plate.

Flywheels off and I've bolted it all back up together to see if it's sitting flat. I have the clutch plate between the flywheel and backplate as it would be in operation.

Now is there any way to tell it's flat by measuring anything? Or is it a case of just looking?

Also I have 2 straps fitted on each lug. Should I fit more?

Any photos to help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks
Josh

I just do it by eye really,

or measure the crutch plate thickness, and use some washers stacked up to give the same hight, then add washers till the spring sits about right, and take the difference between the two as the amount that needs to come off.

That's what I have without any washers added.
I'm going to buy a new clutch plate as I'm unsure of how many miles this one has done. All I do know is it came off a 16v kad hill climb mini.

So I'll do a proper measure up with the new diaphragm. I was going to fit a doublend grey but they are no longer made...

I'd say with a new plate that will probably be pretty close to flat, wear on the prevents can have quite an effect on clamping pressure.

Cheers Joe!

Also the back plate and flywheel I have has all been balanced up together with the diaphragm.
When I get the new diaphragm, and possibly machibe the lugs, should I get it all rebalanced

Cheers
