Pics of my gearbox, built by me.

Plea for parts, I need the two long bolts that bolt the engine mount bracket up to the gearbox, pointed at by red arrows here!

Yep I got them

On the gearbox theme I was thinking earlier about gearbox to engine gasket thickness.
If you just use sealer then the mesh on the transfer gears will be greater(you know what I mean).....could be why the gearbox input bearing goes
*oh well*

Hard to tell in the pic if its just a casting mark or not.

Any time I had my engine/box split, I noticed the centre web had cracked on the box. This was always with the 3 bolt style bearing retainer.

no idea if it was ever a cause for concern or not, although I always replaced the casing anyway.

VERY bad idea. They are not designed for this, and will fail. As many US recers have experienced.

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

I'm mainly concerned about swirl in the runners caused by the tangential entry.

Ha ha ha see what you mean! The bolts there are only some 5/16 UNF by about 1 1/2" long, they are only in there enough to keep the bracket up together with the gearbox!

Dangerous, sent you a PM, yet again you are a superstar.

Got the casing clean with a steam cleaner and plenty of Janitol!

Thanks for the thoughts but it definately isn't cracked, just casting flash as you say. I even ground a small area back to double check.
