Hi has any one modified a pre engaged starter to move the solenoid as it's right in the way I've looked at the slimline & high torque but there quite expensive and iam a tight git 😂

Cheers guys I have a look when I get some time at what I can do I take some pics so if it works i can put a how to on for anyone else wanting to do the same I just can't justify 225quid without at least trying to modify first

The mini / metro starters ... same starter different solenoid position

I forget which is which but one helps with space around the front
You can also re drill and rotate the starter so the solenoid is tucked up to the engine block

There may be pictured early on in my built thread
If not search a members build thread ..benny..

I would repost the pics on here but photo bucket is a c*nt on my phone
It doesnt tuck the solenoid as far into the block as I remeber but it does put it on top instead of in front of the starter

The mini solenoid is at around 10o'clock whereas the metro one is around 9 o'clock if i recall

I had a look earlier when I had to pop to the unit to get some work stuff the mini one is further round like you said Rob which mite just give me enough room to get me fan in as I only need an extra 10mm I think
