Afternoon all...

Thought I'd see what you guys think with regard to plumbing my lines, at the moment mine look a bit unsightly. I have two lengths of 8mm ID copper tubing from front to back, then I have some braided 8mm rubber pipe to connect each end of the copper tube to its relevant port. I wanted the braided stuff up front to look nice with the rest of the engine but its not necessary at the back where it connects to the tank.
So, I have four 'joins' if you like that are unnecessary under the car which could potentially leak in the future... I have had a search on here and most topics talk about internal v's external lines but not so much info about joins.

Should I forget the copper pipe altogether and use proper fuel tubing (the rubber stuff) thus eliminating the rear connection to the copper pipe and maybe have a stealthy connection in the engine bay to the braided stuff (or bin that too), or have both the lines in one complete length from fuel tank to regulator and the same for the return in order to eliminate any joins... and sacrifice the braided look in and out of the regulator?

One complete line seems the better (and safer) job and the rubber is easier to handle as the copper is a bit of a pain...

Dont worry about it mate i must have 15 joins in my system
Aslong as your not trying to clamp 1/2 rubber onto 8mm copper (or any other miss matched combination) i cant see there being a problem
I ran copper pipes internally with rubber for the joins never had an issue (and run 3bar+boost fuel pressures)

I will recommend propper fuel pipe "jubilee" clips though

Fair enough... I may however bin the copper stuff and just have a bit of braded in the engine bay... What about fixing to underneath of the car..? Those bloody strips of metal are useless since the original hose was pulled off...

Could use some of these double clamps.. think I have a few left over somewhere...?

Would it look lame with black fuel hosing in and out with the braided to the plenum/carb?

I bought a set of MPI steel lines which will be 'P' clipped to the floor. I've got some rivnuts which means they can be bolted in from under the car easily. I preferred the idea of having hard lines under the car.

As for connectors I would just use some proper fuel hose clamps, rather than worm screw clamps and it will fine. I've ended up a bit overkill with mine as i used some tube nuts and sleeves and flared the end of the steel lines to take a -5 AN fitting. After working on a fuel systems with AN style fittings I couldn't bare going back to screw clamps and barbs...
