Hi All,

I hope your all well. Been a while since I was last on here.

Debating on getting some new wheels. So I've got a set of 6x13 and 7x13 wheels. I found when I ran the 7x13 wheels I had too much torque steer and the car didn't feel safe to use the full potential of the engine.
When running the 6x13 wheels I didn't seem to have anywhere near as much torque steer and the car was much more drivable.

I have the sports pack arches and I prefer the look of the 7inch wheels in the rear arches. They seem to fill them more. I am also running spacer minifins on the back.

Do you guys think i'll have problems if I run 7x13's on the back and 6x13's on the front?

Not problems as such, but it will handle differently. It will feel less lively at the rear end and understeer more than having the same sized wheels on.

Think how a smart car looks and how you'd expect it to drive.

To be honest it'll look a bit odd as well. I'd go 6x13 all round and fit 5mm spacers at the rear

surely wheel width is less of an issue here and offset is where the trouble lies....

seeing as most 7x13 wheels are et-7,

so just need to weigh up whether looks or function are more important?

Yes, but the issue is that the 7s have to have a larger offset of they foul the body and suspension.

The OP is considering achieving both looks and function by mixing the wheel sizes (offsets).

Best thing to do is fit the 6s allround and buy some arches that achieve the 'full arch look'.

i had the same tyres on 13x7 and 13x6
the 13x7 did as you described, it would pull all over the place
the 13x6s were night and day better imo
then again the 10x6 were just pure awesome *wink*

that being said i have now gone back to 13x7s but because i had to *hehe!*

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

I also like the idea of putting 6x13's all around. They will look good and handle great.

having been here, the 6's will be much less of a handful, as mentioned the 7x13 et is normally around -7, where as you can get 6x13's in around +20. essentially that equates to the difference of adding/removing a 1" wheel spacer.

I know this is late and I'm not trying to teach you to suck eggs but have you checked the condition of doughnuts if fitted? when they start to collapse they can make the car feel a little in skittish. Have had a few cars come to me and this has been the issue.
