I have some 8mm micro bore pipe sorted from screwfix £15 for 10m but now need some hose. Which hose / where do you recommend purchasing it from? I have read some hose is of poor quality and can split easy which I don't want happening...

Is it OK to use the 8mm for the return as well?

Thanks

Been reading into fuel pipe and apparently fuel now has stuff added and it rots some fuel pipe types...

Something about high quality r9 rated pipe is what we need to use now due to ethanol being added to fuel and even that sometimes isn't 100% resistant to it... Your can get 100% resistant pipe but it was something like £15 per m

I'm currently replacing all the hose I fitted to my car less than 4 years ago as it is starting to perish (one hose split highlighting it); bought cheap from the local factor. Happily spend the right money for peace of mind

Proper stuff should have writing down the side stating its usage and size.

Ive had some fuel pipe from my local motor factors which has been on 3 cars now with no issues :)

I first noticed bad quality fuel pipe when i went to pull the carb inlet pipe off and it just tore off in my hand... Wasn't that old either.

Read a thread on piston heads where someone went to start his s3 and fuel started squirting out everywhere....

One of the threads linked me to this pipe

Buy Gates, or similar reputable brand that is intended for the application in mind. Job done.

Most local factors should stock such things...if they dont, they're crap lol

I used the micro bore pipe for feed and return. I find if the car sits for a few months without being started (over the winter), when I first start it the carb floods like crazy, I think the ethanol content causes some corrosion in the fuel pipe which then jams the needle in the fuel bowl. It never did that when I used proper fuel hose.
