I need a reasonably accurate measurement of the diameter of a 10" wheel fitted with a 165/70 tyre. If anybody can help. I know it will vary a little with rim width and tyre brand, but somewhere near should do.

Simple maths says it's 485mm diameter

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

1.4 is 40%?? should be 1.7 if 70%

Simple maths says it's 485mm diameter 10" wheel =254mm Tyre section width =165 Tyre profile height is 70% 254+(165*1.4) =485mm Rolling radius is slightly different. Without measuring rolling radius, I assume 3mm deflection, which can mean a fair bit different over a mile. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

So it's easiest just to say section width x 1.4 plus the wheel diameter. Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

Usually around 1.8 at rear and 2.2 at front but its for winter storage. My grandfather always raised pressure in winter and i took that habit with me. you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
