Right building up the engine and ready to torque the head
(Wooooo)
Haynes says emission controlled engines are 40 foot pounds and the rest are as I remembered - 50
Question is, is it the block that can only take 40 or the head?

I have an feeling it's the head and 50 should be fine but seeking confirmation or more info!
Thanks

It's more about the studs and whether they are oiled or dry, and the gasket.

Pretty sure 50 was for pre a+ engines (studs)
