ive been deciding whether to or not for ages but ive finally decided its got to go, its had about 16k put in to it, runs 185 bhp, every trick done to it, been on front cover of miniworld, 4 trophys under its belt, reluctant sale but got my eye on a civic type r 200bhp engine and a little bird tells me they drop in minis quite easy, are reliable as f@~k, 5 or 6 gears cheap fuel etc etc, Edited by miniman on 22nd Sep, 2005.

Whoever told you they drop in 'easilly' hasn't told you they need a 3" min nose extension - or a clubby front!

nah i reckon a half decent turbo a series would kill a type r up to about 65 70 mph... by then you have prooved ya point..... i have been down this road mate but with 2 ltr astra gte engines, didnt think all that much of it unless you put a spooler on of course. i agree about reliablitiy though. if u r going to mess about with engine transplants i would recomend using a nissan pulsar gtir engine 2ltr turbo 4wd you are pushing 285 bhp before you even trick it up, h reg ones are well cheap coz they changed the body styling after h reg. think of the power to weight ratio ! i believe there is a generic subframe that the lump will fit in, only prob would be getting the prop shaft shortened and sleeved. just think of the power to weight ratio, the thing would drive sideways with torque lol

A turbo a series is more fun, it won't handle the same with a different engine. 16V project underway |

not to take anything away from that mini on the film but the porsche is tootling around the track, the driver does nto even exceed 3000k rpm and is clearly backing off. would be nice to see him get smoked if he was trying tho lol mini was flying tho !
