so i want to put the efi pump in the mini tank easy enough although not sure on what i should use to seal the flange to the tank? o ring or some kind or go with cork or other sheet material

as some may recall i plan to use ethanol fuel in small % its not really a problem as most fuel now has at least so in it but ill most likely see from about 30-100%

im thinking about using Teflon sheet about 2mm and cutting a disc out that can be compressed between to flanges that would have a slightly raised ring to bite into the Teflon sheet compressing it tight and taking any small gaps up from my un skilled lathe work

the ring would be on the outside of the bolt pattern and id use some small Teflon washers under cap head screws to seal them

but this is just an idea and may well be more complex than needed so is there a simple way to seal up the flange for an add in pump

I'm guessing you never got the late injected minis over there with the in tank pumps?

would it make sense to get one shipped over?

im not sure joe id assume there are spi/mpi minis here but a lot of those minis are holding there value well

i think ill set it up for a sheet type gasket and try normal ish cork/gasket material and if that leaks ill go to teflon sheet as i think that's going to be best shot

its not just for the mini tho as im working on a V8 swap into an old hilux as a way to teach myself ecu stuff with a "normal" engine and id like to do an internal pump on that too so the plan is to make a few

what kind of sealing arrangement is on the injection ones from factory? similar to the lvl sender? a flat rubber like gasket with a compression ring that twists in on cam lugs?

The injection ones have a plate with a ring of bolts on the top of the tank, both the pump and sender are fitted to that.

Lole. The feed and return and electrics to the pump go through the top plate, the sender is as per other Minis.

Get a sheet of viton and cut to suit, and sandwich between suitable flanges

If you get hold of a full assembly they usually come with a seal. You could try that first.

I'm using a modified mx5 assembly in an ally tank. It's a pretty nice one to work with but the plate would probably be too large on a standard tank.

In the 13's at last!.. Just
