As part of wider engine renovations, I am considering having unleaded inserts fitted. I have had conflicting advice if this is a good idea, given the large valve head particularly given turbo application.

What are the views of the wise people in this group?

I note the later unleaded MG Metro heads had smaller exhaust valves.

The later unleaded MG heads had smaller inlet valves.
It does increase the risk of cracking a bit, but you'll find every aftermarket head with a 36/29mm valve combination fitted with unleaded seats nowadays, so I wouldn't worry.
