Hi all.
I am trying to work out how hard it will be to turbo my mini.
I have been given a hif44 carb and a turbo off a td27 with the possibility of a holly fuel pump and fuel reg

so i thought i would show you lot my mini
its a 1970 mini 1000 mk2
my mum got it in 1990 that last picture is of when she got it and her dog. :)
these first 2 pictures is 6 years ago now when i was still in school and i was driving it around for a bit of fun.

doing a bit of a restoration on the car at the moment. Ive taken the car apart to change the hydro suspension out and in doing so ive been thinking about what else i could do

its got a mg1100 in it currently with a hs4 and a low geared diff.
now don't get me wrong i like this engine its great as it is but who doesn't like boost right
1100 has a 12g295 head on it too so its very nice. don't think it was ever decked though so its probably quite a low compression, i guess that is what led me to think about boost

i guess my 2 questions are:

if it was yours would you turbo the 1100 or something else?

and do you think turbocharging is worth the time and money for the smiles??

Thanks
Matt

Asking that question here is like asking a fat kid at a cake convention if he likes cake! *laughing*

thanks everyone looks like im building the turbo now sadly my hydros were a little on the broken side so its going to be riding on rubber cones in the not to distant future. or maybe coils if i can swing it past her indoors

just a quick mock up of where the turbo might fit.
