Yes. I have. Works fine. Can´t really tell if they cool better or not. I ran it with an elektric fan only.

It seems fine to me. Haven't managed to test it yet though.

Any updates on this?

Mine seem to work well without mechanical fan and electric water pump. Haven't tested it fully yet as the engine sprung another oil leak!
