we all like cheap solutions, so i thought i would show you all something i just knocked up this morning .


i needed a variable speed toothed wheel, with a vr sensor on it, to simulate a rolling road signal to test my newly donated chassis dyno soft/hardware ...

Ah, I see now, half hidden and in "soft focus". He still looks un-impressed though. As in, I'd much rather he gave my mole back than play with kitchen utensils.

Can’t knock it if it works. When I was playing with Megajolt I put a toothed wheel in my lathe chuck and a VR sensor in the tool post.

i was going to do that rob , but i needed variable adjustment i could do while watching the screen , my old lathe is just gearbox and steps in speed ..rod 4500 rpm max 1500 min .

lathe is dead handy for checking what orentation/spacing gives the best signal for positioning the bracket,

had a cloud of smoke drift out of the mixer at one point , turns out its the old flour burning off the big speed control resistor ! PHEW .

Those instruments remind me of my job 15 years ago, lots of buttons and knobs to play with; still do the business though.

We still have the old paper chart recorders, which were fun.
