Heya All,

So I have just bought these, went off on a whim and bought some 4 Pot Calipers from ebay without doing the actual research..........

This is what I bought, got them for £48.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-Mini-MG-...872.m2749.l2649

eBay item number:263835091139

Few Questions;

# What else do i need to make these work (I assumed they would be a straight fit, how stupid of me)
# Are these calipers suitable for vented discs, did not know there was a vented and solid disc variant
# Are these only suitable for 12" mini wheels and above?
# Is it even worth overhauling these with the time and money needed to go into them, or shall i abandon all hope and just invest in new ones?
# Any other tips?

If anyone else can let me know what I let myself in for and if I have paid far to much would be appreciated hahaaaaa.

Cheers

These look to be early (pre 83) metro calipers, for solid discs, the might bolt straight onto 8.4 mini hubs and discs, but the offset might be wrong meaning you'll need the right disc and flanges

If they do go on you'll need the hose conversion kit,

No the won't go on anything smaller than 12" wheels

Thanks Gents, good info to have....... just building up the subframes.

If the offset is right I will refurb and fit, then worry about upgrading to a vented version later on as I wont be throwing any power at the wheels to start.

If they do not fit they can be a side project *smiley*

Before anything else see if the bleed nipples will move. My advice is get the cast area around each as hot as you can then try to move them. They are very prone to seizing in place and then shearing off.
