Have you got the stem seals on the exhaust valves as well?

Could it be turbo oil seals?

Has one breather on the tappet cover and i can feel a slight breeze trough it. I can free blow trough it to. Also Ran it with the oil filler Cap loose. No difference.
I checked oil level it was at max when started it's at minimum now so used 1/2 liter of oil in 40 minutes.
Something badly wrong here.

Im Back to stuck oil rings?

stuck ring might be found by a compression test.
Always use the (most expensive) seals made of Viton. Be sure you dont damage then already while assembling the valvetrain
Dont know what cam you use, but in some cases the space for the seal can be critical so they get bashed.

I'd be thinking stuck oil control rings if your 100%sure the valve stem seals havnt got crushed(easy to check tbo). it won't show on a compression test you need to just take the leap of faith and pull a piston. if yours have the crappy 1 piece oil control rings now would be a good time to swap to a traditional 3 piece.

Does it start smoking immediately after cold start? Mine took a minute or so to start smoking, as it took that time for oil to flood the top of the head. This turned out to be mis-shaped guide parent bore, so even new guides didn't fix it. I finished up having a parent bore remachined and an oversize guide fitted. And yes it did smoke like a pig!

they are vitons. its a metro cam. i checked lift but doesnt lift to high.

well here is the thing. i had it running good years and years ago. ( about 14) and ran good but then got in to storage somewhere in those years i took the original head off for god nows what. so stood ( in my dry garage like that)

so.... yeah i know. shifts and drives great though.

ill take out the engine out somewhere this week. just not looking forward in taking the clutch and so on off. but hey. man has to do what a man has to do right.
as far as i know the engine is fully standard. ( exept for the cam that is a metro cam and the head that was on my 998 fast road engine and the duplex chain)

yes immediately after start up ( there is oil on the piston tops) the head was good. i used it on my fast road 998 for years then been on the shelf for 4 years. after first seeing the smoke i replaced the worn guides ( all 8) and used viton seals. ill go with stuck oil rings unfortunately.

ill update as soon as possible.

stripped the engine today. top 3 rings are good ( gap and so on)but yes i will be replacing those to of course.

The oil rings although loose do not even stick out of the piston when released.

pistons look like new.

bore is like a mirror so needs to be honed.

new rings end some new trustwachers needed ( end float is 1.5mm instead of 0.5 to 0.7)
