Fuel pump should not be an issue,

Most likely some dirt has stuck the needle valve open.

Unless your replacement pump flows too much for the regulator to handle and the carb is getting a million psi.

Many thanks for the replys, will take out the carb and measure the preasure from the regulator...normally what ever is going wrong must be easy to find as never did i see a cylinder full of fuel... |

Did you empty the carb before you stored the car? if not as mentioned above you will have a poorly seating float valve due to residue left behind. Own the day
