Diff help from you lovely people

Hi all, I wonder if some of you knowledgeable people could help with a diff noise. I got my hands on a factory MGB gt v8 which was is bits, I have slapped it back together over last 6 months and it past is MOT last weekend, I went out in its first drive tonight and every now and again when you set off there is a clonk from the back, I jacked the car up and there is play in the diff, I have put a vid below, I presume this is too much and needs a replacement?

I found the owners club and various parts places sell a clonk kit that replaces the copper and fibre shims behind the planet gears. Seems a common thing. £8 and the weekend swearing trying to get the half shafts and pin out 😀

So I fitted the clonk kit (diff planet gear washers)

Seems to have improved things.

Parked up under a cover, took it to a local rolling road day and it made the same bmp as when it was mapped a couple years ago, I was happy with that. I did get some looks from a bloke running a 3L Mgc that made less than my little 1071 😀
