Do the con rod bolts just drift out or is it best to use a bit of heat?

And does anyone know the recommened torque setting for arp rod bolts?

cheers.

Punch them carefully out. No heat required. Remeber to have them resized when fitting new ones. They do change.

I use the hole end of a 3/8 extension bar and tap them out

When putting them in make sure they are the right way round and seated properly

A tad unnecessary for a road smoker unless it's had bearing failure in the past causing the rods to go oval.

But I can see where you’re coming from if you've got the time and cash at hand then it's a good move for peace of mind.

On A+ rods I'd definately do it as these are made of chocolate ( hot chokolate I might add, the type that has been lying in the sun)
On old A rods it's not "that" necessary.

A+ rods are really bad for getting oval compared to the older (heavier) stuff.
