I am having problems trying to source the standard A+ conrod bolts CAM6126. I have removed the piston and rod assemblies from the block and have read that it is best to replace the bolts when rebuilding the engine. Is this really necessary?

I have reused bolts for a standard build, if you couldn't find the standard A+ you could use 12.9 Allen cap bolts 3/8 UNF. Edited by R.Rodrigues on 5th Jan, 2020. |

I've reused the standard bolts several times on turbo builds. I've used ARP for high revving engines.

Ah good to know Paul! In which case reusing them is also an option. I found one retailer where I could order the standard bolts and I placed an order but I am not holding out much hope.
