Hi all,

I have bought a 998cc with 12G940 head already fitted but immediately decided that the engine needs a rebuild.

While I will be at it, I would like to get out some more power out. What suggestions do you have regarding:

- Camshaft (shall I go for the Kent 276?)
- Valve Rockers (Will 1.3:1 be ok?)
- Valves (are there anything else apart from the standard valves?)
- Pistons (will it help to enlarge the bores? and to what size ideally?)
etc..

Any feedback from anyone who has gone through this process already is greatly appreciated!

First thing that I would suggest is check the engine number on the block is it definitely a 998 with a 1275 head or a whole 1275 engine?

This is what I'd do

+40 overbore using something like http://www.minispares.com/product/Classic/...k%20to%20search

Other pistons are available depending on budget.
276 cam
1.5 rockers
Standard valves
10.5:1 CR
all the other decent stage 1 stuff

Should net 55 to 60 bananas and rev to 7k safely, nice.

If it's a 998 with 1275 head and you change valve lift in any way. Check if your pockets are deep enough so the valves don't hit the blok or come to close to it.

you can do anything if you set your mind to it...
i rather blow it up winning than keep it together losing.

finish date set for project 1... march 2018
