Is it worth dry decking the aluminium 7 port?

I'm not sure if its strictly 'worth it' but you certainly can just plug the block side and get the benifit of the improved distribution of coolant flow. |

Just plug the block with grub screws, there’s no need to do the head, unless you really want to create a genuine dry deck setup.

Promotes cooling around No4 allegedly, while your carrying out some machining/drilling/tapping there is a mod to relieve the casting around the water pump that supposed to help.

I see the real benefit with the turbos, Is that when the inevitable head gasket fails because you went a little too far; you can still drive home on three cylinders!

I dry decked my 7 port SC head with brass grub screws sealed with some loctite thread sealant.
