I think Mr Calver did a piece on 'A' series auto tranniies in the dim and distant past, they dont like torque. I have Gout ( too much whiskey, curry and chilli con carne ) so can understand and sympathise with your problem. solution- Manual Tranny, lots of pain killers, Lowered torque dreams, an RTS clutch, (loads of info on here in search) or, heaven forbid baseball cap - back to front of course, DSG Golf GTi and silly grin while thinking you actually have a chance of getting away from that innocent looking little Mini which seems to keep making farting noises when changing gear
