From a Ford. 110k miles. Didn’t rattle or vibrate; the clutch slipping was the only issue.

I've seen better and worse. If it was my own car I'd probably replace it.

When I changed mine (BMW E92) it had more play than that and didn't show any symptoms of being U/S. I replaced it tho as it was easier to do the job once and not have to worry about it.

Well I just scored a deal on Amazon of a LUK DMF for just over $100 (normally 3x that) so I decided to go ahead and swap it out; especially as a slightly larger engine is going in...
Thanks Fellas!

I think there are specs for free play and movement etc...

But really, when you're in there with any intention of keeping it, it's crazy not to put a new one in.

202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Well and truly knackered.

On my old Mondeo (diesel which are a lot harder on DMFs) the original had the death rattle at 65k miles. And with a lot less play than that.

I replaced it with an LUK one and it was still silent and vibration free at 125k miles when I scrapped the car for all the other TDCi related faults (injectors, high pressure pump, related sensors, etc.)

If you have it in bits and can get an LUK one at a decent price, it's a no-brainer.

EDIT - typo
