Evening chaps ,

i am working on a head with two pairs of ports

and i want to make something better than the stock inlet ..

you can just see it there on the left , its a single 32mm carb downdraught ......ugh.

it ocurred to me that those two ports might just fit a mg metro ally inlet with a bit of adaption , but those are a bit rare these days , so i wondered is there a 1 3/4 " su cast iron inlet around ,that might be a bit more common ? maybe one connected to the exhaust ...like the 1 1/2" ones .

thanks
robert

Hi shane thank you for the offer , much appreciated , in the end it turns out the spacing is wrong , so it looks like it may be throttle bodies again .

regards
robert.

Blimey. Single inlet runner into three pots?!

Only reasonable plan of action is to mill off the entire face and make a one off inlet with a runner per port.

your right gary but its 2 inlets per three cylinders ...,

joe its a armstrong siddeley sapphire 346 head , 3.4 litre 150 bhp@5000.

the head has a long 40mm tube cast into it ,than runs across the ports , then 4 37mm holes feeding the tube ..then just for more fun , there's a blockage in the tube half way , with what feels like a 1/2" hole in it .

so basically each three cylinders has a log manifold with two inlets that come out between two cylinders , very good for even mix , not so good for pulse and ram tuning ...although there may be some self supercharging taking place as per my theory on the A series head .

the head is extremely high flowing for its valve size , typical hemi .

1955 is the car age .

Norway.

Almost like these cylinder heads were made for the SU DU6 twin choke carburettors.

Best wishes
