What have people done re sealing the manifold to head? I'm thinking boost and simple gaskets might not be ideal - should I cut and fit an o ring, either to the head or manifold flange. Trying not to overthink this but it will be a bespoke manifold and plenum, designed to fit in the space available.
Oh, while I'm at it, what about the head gasket to use - a series or bmw, or something special - for anm8v head btw.

On my first k100 inlet I took a piece of ally flat bar and bored the holes in for the inlet ports, I then bored a recess for an O ring. The main holes then had tubes for the inlet runners slipped through and welded.
I Haven’t got a picture of the mating face to hand unfortunately. The sealing method replicated that of the 16v plastic throttle body adaptor but in the form of on encompassing flange.

Yes, pretty much what I was thinking. Luckily I have an ac tig...
What about head gasket - I'm hoping I can go dry deck and butcher a mini hg?

Bk450 holds up well. Just used a transfer punch to mark the holes for the studs then a wad cutter to cut them.
