I have just search the forum however there does not seem to be a correct answer or a general consensus as to which way to go on converting from 8.4 to 7.9 or 7.4 for that matter.

I have read all of the threads below however i have been unable to work out what i need to do or what is the best option in terms of what kit to buy.

1. metty 4 pots....
2. Rolling Shell / Alloy 4 Pots / Tilton Pedal Box
3. Which 4 pots are best to fit 10
4. MG metro 4 pots
5. Upgrading to 4 pots, why and how!
6. Metro 4 pots
7. 4 pots with the new wellers
8. Metro 4 Pots or Not

Ideally I wish to run the vented 7.9 set-up (as they seem to offer the best compromise in terms of stopping power coupled with allowing the fitment of 10 inch wheels for handling) on my track car (currently running solid 8.4). The Mini Sport 7.9 set-up look a good buy at the moment for £349.96 (discs, calipers, pads with split pins and with new screws). So all I would need to buy is the drive flanges.

However nobody in Mini Miglia seem to run this set-up nor do they use the equivalent mini spares kit either. Am a correct in assuming that the KAD are far better (if so why) or are they just what is currently in vogue?

Finally am I correct in assuming that due to the fact that I have 8.5 already fitted all I will need is the discs, calipers, pads with split pins and drive flanges? Or do I need to go the whole hog and get every thing including uprights, bearings, ball joints, CV joints, brake discs, drive flanges, calipers, etc.

Please help as all these different alternatives is starting to make my head spin *blush*

8.4 hubs and cooper s/gt hubs are the same, its the calipers that will not fit under 10's

start by sourcing the calipers you need, mg and mini 8.4 2 pot calipers will not work under 10's so bin/sell them

if you have bought calipers that work with turned down 8.4 disks then buy the disks and get an engineering firm to turn them down, if you have bought calipers to fit cooper s disk's then get the disk's and drive flanges, if you get kad vented then buy the kad vented 7.9 disks

minispares calipers have always been alright for me, but nic will argue as he's had a couple of bad ones

can't personally comment on the KAD stuff but have heard mixed reports about them

not heard anything about the minisport stuff

Wolfie.

I already have the 8.4 setup fitted to the car with braided hoses etc.

So all i need to do is swap the calipers and disks for new 7.9 vented items and I am away (and ready to fit 10 inch wheels) or do i need new drive flanges as well?

either that or there was some jap company at mini in the park that are producing some 10 inch wheels that have been made to run with 8.4 disks i cant remember their name though but they should be availible over here soon

steel flip front, fiberglass bonnet with 4 lamp pod and vents, tinted windows, 13"revos, 6point cage, recaros, harnesses, custom abs dash, twin exit exhaust, chrome bumpers, chrome grill, electric blue carpet, group6 arches, clear lights, push button start, flaming cooper laurels on front screen, mini wings logo on rear screen, custom dash clocks from a mg of some sort, and soon to have a car pc and a 998 or 1098 turbo
