Evening been offered this modified head, I don't know either about head modifications to judge but what do you guys think? It's had about 100 miles since rebuild.

On the bright side: nicest boat anchor I have seen in a while.

The shape of those chambers and the quality of work that has gone into them is nothing short of horrific.

No wonder why someone’s decided to get rid of it after using it 100 miles.....

It's had so much metal badly removed in all the wrong places, I'm not sure it will still be heavy enough for a boat anchor.

Well, unless you only have a really small boat...

I would pass on that...
Try turbo phil as Shane said or if your budget cant stretch to a freshly worked head.....
Try find a good used head done by a reputable person..... Turbophil, benross, alex at tkc ect...

Thank you all for your replies. I was a bit concerned when I looked how much metal had been taken out of it

I don't believe Steve (Benross) is still producing heads but as stated they do appear for sale occasionally.
Ive recently been helping a friend build an engine using one of Phil's heads and the work is first rate.

Thank you. I have contacted phil but he's not got any space till March which I'm happy to wait but on the off chance I thought I'd take a look around
