Someone was selling minifins with the fins already removed, I seem to remember there was a holey version too "race only", but I cannot find them. Can anyone remember?

I've scoured threads for hours but coming up short. I know there was talk about it on Spencer's "Marginal Gains" build and found Page 22 had a couple of pictures

http://www.turbominis.co.uk/forums/index.p...d=479642&fr=525

Mondosport were running them on their car, I though swiftune or someone was selling them, but maybe it was an old link I found last month. I'm certain there was discussion elsewhere about how much could be removed safely, and someone posted a link saying "if they sell them like this, must be ok"

Please can someone put me out of my misery. Thanks

Funny you should mention this but I had the same conversation with a friend last week about them.
I believe KAD made the Swiss cheese drums but seem not to any longer.
The normal Minifins can be turned down to save weight.
I ended up turning his down on the lathe, there were 1.9Kg before, with the fins off and a tidy up they weighed 1.240 Kg each.
I was sure I could get them sub 1Kg with taking another cut and adding some speed holes and slots on the mill but he was reluctant to let me go much further.

If you need a set machining let me know, I've a set to do in the near future for another member, easier for me to do a batch.

What do you want to have for a machined set? It would need shipment to Germany.

Hi, further to your question,
It all depends on what your wanting;
Fins removed.
Further lightening post fin removal.
Parts supplied/lightened.
Your parts lightened.
Arrange you own shipping or have them shipped.

Id have to say I'm not too comfortable purchasing parts to potentially be stuck with them if the sale fell through for any reason.

Is it better to smash a load out in one sitting or kill me hearing one drum at a time over several sittings?
What I need is a younger machining apprentice with better hearing to damage..............
