I’ve recently installed a Eaton m45 on a suck through set up to my 1275 engine.

After initially getting it started and trying to get fuelling etc working I’ve noticed that the split pin below my clutch is wet with oil.

I’m guessing this is likely the clutch / crank oil seal that has started leaking, I never had a issue with the engine prior to the supercharger installation.

My current spec is
1275 Cooper engine
Minispares MSE 4 cylinder head
1.5 roller rockers
X pin diff with standard box
Med ST1 clutch kit ( turbo plate )
Eaton m45 on suck through set up
Hif44 carb
Decompression plate 6cc

Engine is running around 8.1.1 compression.

I’ve done a compression test to double check and the following results came out.

Radiator end first ( dry test )

Cylinder 1 - 125psi
Cylinder 2 - 125 psi
Cylinder 3 - 137 psi
Cylinder 4 - 130 psi

I’ve got no smoke or anything If I remove the oil cap and no white sludge in engine or coolant.

Could it possibly be that my breather system needs upgrading to suit as the supercharger is now creating more pressure? Or just bad luck as the car has not been driven in sometime (4/5 months).

What size and how have you got your crankcase breather piped?

I’ve now got the crankcase vent canister (1/2” ) tee’d in with the old fuel pump hole into a catch can. I’ve ordered a DSN 5/8” crankcase fitting to do away with the old vent canister as I thought it might be restricting ?

Have this

Swapping it to this
