I have a set of 16" ×7.5j Azev A wheels and a set of Force Racing 15" split rims.

The weight difference is considerable. One I can lift with 1 finger at arms length the other both hands close to my chest.

Is it possible to turn down the Azevs to reduce their weight or is that ill advised?

The Azev A normally lives on the BMW E30 so is subject to a much height corner weight.

It would be extremely extremely ill advised.

You've no way to determine structural integrity or overall strength.

There is no doubt some material could be removed, but at what risk ?

Although it could also be interesting to know what testing and load ratings are on various aftermarket wheels. OEM's usually have them marked on them

And you should feel the weight of some of my wheels ! lol
It is shocking how heavy all these so called "lightweight" alloy wheels are.
Steels would be lighter. Some of my Compomotives are extremely heavy

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will
