Hi all

I have a metro turbo it had a 1293 modified engine, when I got it, it was in pieces and had no crank but has a phase 2 cam, decent head etc. it’s has omega pistons so I know the capacity. The pistons are knackered and the bores scored. I’m a bit inexperienced here, the decent power cars seem to be 1293 if I have to rebore are 1380s not the way to go? Am I better to resleve and stick at 1293?

What’s your advice?

Cheers

Ben

Just go next oversize, they're not making the blocks anymore.

Take it to your local engine builder and see what they say you may get away with a hone and new rings.

But next size up would be your next option rather than going 1380

as others say no real reason not to just go for the next oversize piston that is easily available

9.85 @ 145mph
202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Get there in style, not speed.

Lets more folk see how cool your car is....
