i have 2 1275 engines in build that need breathers but no more a+ timing covers with breathers and short of 1 1275 crankcase with breather.
i do have tons of a+ 998 parts. so... my toughts... since the crancase is the same ( mesured the bearing sizes to) exept for the breather hole...

why not opening up that breather hole and just weld a pipe to a plate to get it breathing to a catch can.

and since a chain tensioner isn't needed on a duplex ( never used one) i could also use the 998 timing cover and weld a pipe on that one to route to a catch can. and while at it i can route one from the valve cover to.

( or route all pipes to the valve cover and then one tube to the catch can)

biggest questions i have.

is the above correctly thought out?

what size do these tubes need to be? is a 15 mm tube enough?

greets

Can't answer for the 998 stuff, but I would go separate breathers to the catch can and 15mm should be fine.

+1 for the separate breathers to the catch can. I merged them for a while and had a single line to catch can, but kept blowing oil from the dipstick.

Timing case to rocker, rocker to can. Transfer case to can. In 15mm, should be fine.

Fitted up the 998 parts. All fits. Drilled and grinded open the breather hole on the transfercase. Easy job.

Think i will make my own catch can so i can get every pipe separate to the can.

Thnx for the advise.
