Gday

i am preparing the mini for paint first half of this year, the body is a mini deluxe mk1 style (external hinges) i am running the fusion fab manifold but am thinking of adding a turbo bulkhead box for more clearance and possible a Weber box again for clearence around the SC throttle body.

is this the bulk head box any good or would you recommend other

Looks to be the correct shape, but it's hard to tell due to the contrast

Why not just make your own box ?

But is it right ?

One thing I hated about my box.....is the fact it is pretty flimsy steel, and you are cutting out a structural section of the bulkhead.
Now yes, the subframe likely takes a lot of the load, but if I was ever to do it again, I would use a box made of more substantial metal.
And the fact you also talk about a Weber cab style box in the upper bulkhead area....kinda makes sense to fabricate properly for your specific needs.

I had this exact set up. No need for either.

I wouldn’t cut it. You should have adequate space.

Trust me it's just fine. Took a side impact bang on the A pillar everything folded around the sub frame towers, the box didn't move.
