Hi,

I am Steve and have been looking around the site for quite a while now and must say it has helped me greatly with my GTM 998, GT1549 turbo engine which works very well. Thank you all.

Now for my question. I have a brand new set of 20773 +40 pistons which I got cheaply, probably because 1 of the middle compression rings is missing but on looking around I have noticed that the later press fit pistons use the same rings but only 3 instead of the 4 that the 20773 use.

Has anybody tried using the 20773 piston with only 3 rings? and what are peoples thoughts on the idea anyway?
