thanks shane, thats good info to me as I was expecting a more complex solution.

Do you maybe also have a recommendation about a good fuel filter? *wink*

Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Historically for a carb' turbo I'd just used a 3/8" barbed generic filter which size fitted where I needed it to live. I'd just go to my local motor factors and rummage through what they had (obviously be mindful of where in the flow/return line it is being installed and select accordingly, avoiding plastic bodied items on the pump flow side of the fuel system).
Since going EFI and upgrading to AN lines, I now use a serviceable AN filter.

Hi,
I installed the new air filter now and end up with the place seen on the pics.

From your experience, is this corner maybe not the right place for it?
For info, I'm using the bonnet from an ERA with the air venting holes.

In an ideal world you would want it in the cool air at the front of the engine.
However I’ve run mine there for years without a problem.

The only other issue you may find is fitting your wiper motor in as it is in the same location.

What is that pipework from?
It looks useful.

great, thanks for the info.
I thought of moving the filter into the wheel arch, but if it runs good in the actual position I will leave it there.
So far I didn't think about the wiper motor. Did you find a solution?

The pipe between turbo and airfilter is the original pipe from a SAAB 9-3 YS3F B207

It will run fine there, if it helps.

I moved the wiper motor inside, but it wasn’t all that great.
I’ve just moved that back to the standard position, and now I have the challenge of trying to get the air filter to the front of the engine bay.

I wonder with the pipework you have, if the wiper motor will fit underneath it without touching?

Yes, that helps.
I can check the fiting of the wiper motor more closely this weekend as I need to find my wiper motor in one of my part boxes.

I moved my wiper motor inside. To create room for the filter.
What was the issue moving your wiper inside the car Nic?

The wiper motor performance wasn’t very good. I failed a mot with a particularly strict tester.
I struggled with bending the tube without crushing it, and I presumed it was that.

However I did get caught out in the rain last weekend and risked using the wipers, they still move slowly!!!
Perhaps a new wiper motor is in order
