I'm not sure I heard him right so I'm asking those in the know. Did he just say 427bhp from a turbo 998.

Short stroke 1275? Happy to be proved wrong but don’t only 1275 blocks have 2 water gallery bungs above the clutch housing?

Not sure not worked on anything other than a 1275 for decades.

Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Possibly along similar lines to the 999cc "s pack" powered unit JK/SC built a few years back?

More to the point 427hp from an a-series. Staggering!

Mr Lyons could tell you more, as he runs the prototype.

Obviously it's no ordinary A-series.....pretty much nothing is A-series, although it's designed to bolt in place of an A-series.
An amazing project though

The power from the engine size isn't new, bike engines have made a lot more.
But from an A-style of engine, it's good, and designed to run at that for extended periods for the land speed record.

I hear that. But if the frock is the same the internals must be relatable.

Pretty much nothing in the Ascaso setup is A-series. All very very custom, 5 bearing crank, twin plate clutch, billet alloy block to suit whatever head you're using, etc etc

Yea this is the same block that I'm using with same 73.5mm bore but with a shorter stroke crank. Mine is currently 1273cc, but there is now a crank for 1600cc
