Great discussion — polishing definitely helps reduce surface imperfections that can lead to stress risers, but it’s true that it may also remove the beneficial surface compressive layer. Shot peening is an excellent way to restore that and improve fatigue resistance, especially for high-rev or turbo builds. Consistency in both polishing and peening is key for reliability under load. It’s always impressive how small finishing steps can make such a big difference in performance and component life.read more:https://vibra.com/service/shot-peening/ |
