Just tidying all of the bits and pieces last night such as the exhaust manifold. Now I have cleaned all the crap off it with a wire brush etc what is the best paint use?
My original thoughts were to just cover it in black Hammertite. However is there a better option? (When searching the site for this I noticed quite a lot of discussion about red or green engines, what wrong with either colour?)

If you are going to paint the manifold then you will need at least exhaust paint, but this will probably burn off pretty quickly. Either leave it unpainted or put exhaust wrap on it it you want it to look a bit better, IMO.

GIven you can make the manifold glow... painting it is probably not worth while!

No matter what is says on the can/tin, no paint will last on a turbo exhaust manifold for more than about 2 mins once you get it properly hot for the first time!

Either wrap it or leave it alone is my opinion!

Oh, and PS,

The red and green engine thing is just a bit of friendly banter between us guys on here! Paint it whatever colour you like, just be prepared for some abuse from someone or other if its not the "right" colour! *wink*
