Hi guys,

As most of yous know my engine started smoking real bad a few months back and I finally took the car of the road and stripped the engine down. I found a massive hole in the piston, so I sent the engine off to the local mini shop and had new 1s fitted.

I have now refitted the engine but I am unable to get it to start. The electronic ignition is working, fuel is getting to the carb. I suspect it maybe the whole ht lead and distributor positioning. I know the order is 1,3,4,2 (1 being beside the rad) but not know what position the rotor should be in when positioning the leads.

Someone please explain this.

I seem to remember the Haynes manual gives a good description of how to replace the dizzy and drive.

Give that a read.
