My front 2-pot callipers need a refurb.

Now I could do it myself, but after buying pistons and seals and fannying around for ages, I thought it's probably easier to get someone else to do it.

So, does anyone know anywhere who refurbs callipers (or does an exchange thing ideally) for a decent price?

Cheers

As long as the ones you have are not seized, its an easy enough job to do them yourself. Only slightly tricky bit is getting the seal retainer rings to sit in the counterbore squarely. However, I have to say that the price of the rebuild kits are more than you think, and by the time you have bought new caliper pistons (if needed) you may as well buy a refurbed unit. As Alex points out, any decent motor factor will supply, or most of the Mini spares outfits do them exchange.

Nice one cheers.

Probably all need new pistons TBH, that's why I thought pay someone else to do it.

I'll try my local place then, but I don't hold out much hope.

Might go to Halfords just for a laugh.

You may be suprised, get your cheapest quote and then see if Halfords will match it....

Their returns policy is unrivalled as I found out when I took back a 6 year old 13mm ratchet spanner because it didn't ratchet any more....no hassle, here, have a new one...:)

Does anyone know what the torque setting is, on the four bolts on the 4pot calipers?
