Having a sort out and got a turbo block which looks like it has liners in. |

dont bin it, you can rebore to plus 20 thou so i under stand, some people have used them and i dont think they had any probs,
always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

I'm using a linered block. Will have to see how it goes.

I was speaking about this today to carl austin, both agree it should be ok to use, the material used in the liners is better than the block, so should be better. as long as you don't go any bigger than +020 On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

you can also reliner it i was quoted £100 for removing, refitting and boring the liners to suit which i thought was supurb, then about £80 for liners and hey presto new blockish.

The reason hogster states above is the reason I used a linered block, as I have had other expensive mods carried out, so 'hopefully' if needs be I could have it re-linered without having to have the other m/c work done again.

If you had a lot of mods done to a non linered block and the bores went,then surly you could have liners put in that

im not sure of the od of the liners but i think if its still about +40 then they wont be a problem i have asked gary loads of times for the od of the liners but as usaul he cant be arsed always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

Factory liner OD is 73,09-73,106 mm. (source AKM6353 factory repair manual) |

So if you were +.060" (2.840") you could go out to liner size 2.878" are be back to standard bore

thats a buggerv then as i had a block sitting in my garage which when bored to 73.5 mm went through the water jacket because of corrosion.
