I used to use the standard metro turbo oil filter (just a bit longer than the standard Mini one). However I don't appear to be able to get hold of one, Halfords appear not to stock it anymore (the moron staff member wasn't much help).

I know that there isn't much differance between the standard and turbo filter, so what do most people use?

Any other advice?

Cheers

Just use a std one and change it more often if your worried about it...

the only diffenence if the lenght of the filter inside which will filter more stuff before blocking and creat a slightly higher pressure drop!

without discuting with the efficincy of the std oil filter, I'll use a mocal deported support and a large bmw bosch oil filter, and this as I need space in the left end of the engine to allow more room for my next interccoler set up,
I'm discutting with this as it is really cheap and very efficient
also I'm thinking of using it before the oil pump ( a lot will understand why), have you thinked about this or have you seen this sort of mod before

ITs not a good idea Fab....

We looked at this at work... but the filters are designed to be pushed through not drawn through and it makes a difference!

Don't go mad on the filter size... all you get is a bigger pressure drop... just change a smaller filter more regularly!

thank for the help,
about filter sizing, it's just 'cause the mocal support , can only take one of the largers, and not because I'm needing it
it's mainly because instead of having a larger suuport in the front of my bloc it's now on the inner wing *happy*

Right then , I'll use a standard filter. It gats changed every few hundred miles anyway.

As a bonus it'll save a few grams in weight.
