Been doing some research into megajolt and found this site...

http://ipaqsparker.tripod.com/

You can have realtime map and rpm display and full mapping on your pocket pc.

Follow the links to dl the runtime library and get yourself a serial cable...

Just thought it may be useful .....................

Outstanding! One more reason I need to leave Palm and buy one of my own company's devices. *happy*

Sorry this is an old post, but the cable to connect your ipaq to the megajolt what was it? Did you use a serial to USB adapter?

Feebs,

I think you need one of these, then modify it to suit.

Or you could use one of these plugged into the megasquirt.

Then you could read it with your Ipaq or a bluetooth equipped laptop - no wires!

What a perfect solution!!!! whats the distance you can have between bluetooth devices? I really like that idea

I think that one does 10m. Its power off the serial port. Megasquirt V3 is already configured for it.

You can get then to do 100m but you probably need a separate power supply, 230v ??

Expensive though, but for me it is a simple solution as I already have the bluetooth laptop and Ipaq. It save two cables and a serial/USB adaptor.

Just hope it can cope with the conditions in a Mini!

Just one word of caution.

The ipaqsparker site suggests that you use ActiveSync to make the connection.

ActiveSync over bluetooth is difficult enough without the added complication of a "dumb" terminal at the other end.

Then theres the usual problems with assigning COM ports.

only thing is i wonder if you can cross the channels on it as i know my emerald ecu does not sure a std rs232 cable but i do have the pin out.

I dont know about the Emerald ECU but the Megasquirt is well documented:
