i'm going to be buying my first turbo engine on saturady as the oil pump on my 1275 cooper has gone, i've decided that if this one's coming out again then it aint going back in!

just wondered if it's possible for me drop in the turbo lump ready and put my normal HIF44 on it because i'm going for one of the mirage conversions but i've gotta save for it. will it damage the engine at all running it like this?

cheers, nick.

sorry bud,
but I didn't understood the question,
do you mean that you'll drop the turbo engine and run it as an n/a in a first time?
if it is, you can ever use the metro trubo carb or the n/a cooper one, as they are quasi the same in n/a fonction.
you should also use the cooper distributor.

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

No probs running a turbo engine with no turbo at all.

Just use your cooper dizzy and inlet/exhaust/carb etc. You'll need to have it set up.

Only thing you'll maybe find is slightly less power than the cooper (depending on spec) but then you know that yo'uve got a good enjoy when it comes to turbo'ing.

yeah the post was a bit vague, it was 1am though *smiley*

at least i'll still have a car to run around in then while i save up for the mirage stuff and find a T2. i bet the n/a turbo engine will have more power than mine it's about as quick as a dry slug, 19 second 1/4 mile!

cheers for the quick reply's, i've got a feeling i'll be asking a lot more questions soon.
