"In the UK, about 25 per cent of all fatal crashes occur between 16.00 and 21.00, most of them in the winter months. "

No surprise TBH....

THats when most people drive (coz its shite weather!) and its rush hour(s)!!!

i had the most terrifying experierence of my life when my friend demonstrated he night driving technique.....

i had to drop his crx off at his place and he took me back home on a very twisty main road. He showed me how he could go much faster around corners if he turned his lights off, thus he could see if anything was coming and cut the corner.

I quietly sat holding on for dear life in the passenger seat as every corner was cut, handbraked it on to my road (just wide enough for 2 cars to pass slowly), drove down it at 60+ then pulled up on my drive. I promptly told him how crap his technique was.

Then I realised i had forgotten my keys!!!

so back off the his place we went, technique in full flow once more, handbrake turn on to the main road, at this point the seat turned brown, i ripped the gear out of gear and lost my temper

We then slowly drove to his and back at an enjoyable 40mph

What a dick your friend sounds. One thing putting himself at risk, but you too!

also as in winter months that time the sun is very low in the sky, peeps dont re fill their screen wash, and temp is dropping, all the ingredients for a RTC !
Nic i hate to say it but ure mate is a tool if he drives like that he is more likely to be the guy that i interview at the roadside after killing a cyclist after showing mates techniques. if he wants to get better views round bends he should adopt better road positioning, not to mention raising his observations further ahead *wink* "rant over" sorry just ticks me off coz i get all the paper work and bodies to scrape up after techniques have killed someone :(

Especially because CRX's are made of thin tin and rust and just crumble anyway, my friend Kris crashed his driving like an idiot in the dark at the top of my road straight into a wall, it wasnt that fast - it was how he cut the corner and hit both walls on either side of the road, but the passenger wheel ended up in the passenger footwell, im glad i didnt get in with him.

Its something about CRX drivers getting addicted to the Vtec noise!

Great technique of your mates Dan. That is until someone is coming the other way using the same theory.

It was common practice for locals to turn their lights off at night at a crossroad on a country lane to see if anything was comming. There was an accident when two people were tring the same thing.
