Gday i was just woundering if it was possible to run boost through an Su and if so what needs to be dont to the su fo it to handel the boost.

hello and welcome....

Yes you sure can, in fact thats the was BL did it on the Metro Turbo and the Montego/Meastro turbos!

The easiest was is to get a turbo SU (ebay or new from Burlan (SP)). But it is possible to convert a stand HIF to turbo spec with a little work and knowledge/skill.

It's easy as long as you use the later HIF tpye with the 'internal' float bowl.

I'm sure you could use an earlier 'external' float bowl type, but as HIFs are easily available, why would you bother.

Wot would be the difference in using an internal flote or external.

one is a HIF (internal - fuel bowl under carb) the other the HS (external float chamber).

One workes well HIF 44 Turbo for example!!!

The other is very unlikly to without major mods.

USE AN HIF44 *happy*
