Head lining is a bastard. Wiring is not that hard, Alex_b's frog took me a day start to finish.

is it wise to leave the headlining out? i can imagine it being horribly noisy in the rain, lthough a forced induction a series aint the quietest of things :p

are you going to rebuild that engine I sold you mate? It's been standing for a while so it's worth stripping to make sure everything is ok. On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:

It's been standing for a while so it's worth stripping to make sure everything is ok. well Jim, as mentioned earlier in the thread, the head is with turbo hogster at the moment having the chambers opened a bit to lower the compression ratio, and whilst that is off i am going to fit a new cam, paint the block up etc ... but on first inspection the engine is quality, i was a little worried you were gonna screw me over and sell me a dud, but i am pretty pleased with what i see at the moment
ps,incidentally, i was reading mini mag today on my lunch break from AUGUST 2003, and on page 42 i happened to recognise a certain Turbo mini owning fella from South Wales, who said "the best part of the day was beating a mini cooper S" .... had a good chuckle to myself and everyone in the staff room thought i was nuts. :p pps, speaking of cams, i was thinking of a kent 266, Piper Phase 2 etc etc ... anyone got any suggestions (aiming for a mildly tuned 130bhp for this build until i have the gearbox to cope with major power) or know of anyone that is selling a suitable cam i may buy? ppps "Nice mini, but remember all that plastic will only slow you down. Quality project though, nice to see it done properly." ^^^ well, you may be right there, but i wouldnt live up to my Boy Racer persona if i didnt have any :p NO LONGER A <3 lover of BOLT-ON plastic <3 .... I'd pay more attention to; crank bearings, thrust washers, piston rings, oil pump than painting it up mate.

I'd find out then, as otherwise an old engine won't last 5 minutes when driven hard.

i would deffo listen to Tom, time spent on checking and correcting potential flaws in the bootm end equals time saved on ripping nackered engines out, money saved on scourcing new parts, and heart ache saved on "do i really want to go through that build again?"
